It’s frustrating when you spend time on your makeup only to have it start slipping and sliding off of your face just a few hours later. But, if this sounds like something that happens to you, there are some things that you can do to make sure your makeup lasts longer. Hopefully, with these tips, we’ll be able to help ensure that your beautiful look stays put for the whole day or night.

We all know that makeup can be expensive, and it’s frustrating to spend a lot of money on products only for them to wear off quickly. So today, I will teach you how to make your makeup last longer, so you don’t have to worry about shelling out the cash every few months.

Prepare your skin before applying makeup.

The first thing you need is a primer! Primer helps create a barrier between your skin and the rest of your makeup, so it doesn’t rub off as quickly. We recommend: using a primer, setting it with powder, blotting any excess oil (especially if you’re oily), applying in layers instead of all at once, and reapplying as necessary! Next, use an oil-free moisturizer or foundation with sunscreen before applying any other products (such as powders). Finally, set everything with powder to help give the product staying power without causing caking or looking unnatural.

Apply primer before foundation

We all have the same problem. We want to look good and feel good, but we don’t want to spend an hour getting ready in the morning. That’s why I’ve put together some tips that will help you make your makeup last longer so you can get out of the door faster!

  • Apply primer before foundation
  • Use a setting powder when applying blush or bronzer
  • Use a translucent powder on top of your lipstick for added staying power. When it comes to eye makeup, remember that less is more! You don’t need tons of mascara and eyeliner – use what you need to make your eyes pop!

These products are less prone to fading than their water-based counterparts because they contain emollients that bind with skin oils rather than evaporating into the air. Makeup artists recommend using these products even when you’re not wearing any other makeup as they will help keep all of your cosmetic goods in top condition!  So don’t be fooled by those who say that oil-based moisturizer leaves a greasy film.
